I can absolutely see why some people aren't into the gameplay here, because they don't like the idea of categorizing traversal as gameplay and they're used to open-world games that are built to ferry you from objective to objective with a minimum of effort. So they see a game like this and think "this is unnecessarily cumbersome and there's nothing to do" when overcoming the obstacles that make it cumbersome is the entire point of the exercise

It reminds me of when I heard a game reviewer lament how many side missions in Mirror's Edge: Catalyst were about getting from point A to B. Neither that nor this nor Spintires or Snake Pass are for everyone, of course
