Finishing up watching supergreatfriend's playthrough of Noctropolis, I'd personally call it a clunky adventure game with an ill-informed story and (despite those faults) a ton of genuine craft behind it. He's great at giving games like these the time to speak for themselves

I was expecting the game (as a self-insert power fantasy) to go into a much more meta/self-critical direction than it actually went, though I suppose it'd have resulted in a ton of unsatisfied customers. It's an EA game, I wonder if the story was focus-tested and workshopped
