itch.io is *way* more open than steam is and is still way better and easier to find good games on because the folks that run it put a lot of effort into curation, *manual* curation, through blog posts and the featured games (reminiscent of bandcamp's "new and notable" feature, which shows that even a much larger site can make this model work)
(also itch.io has a 90/10 split by default but you can set it to whatever you want just sayin.)

Replicating a Tumblr I ran before the site's bad security glitch-locked me out of my old account a couple of years ago: @positivityinvideogames
okay the absolute best thing that ever came out of the Silva project was the entire album of Sonic CD's music redone in the Genesis sound font, they all damn near move me to tears https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIsUrtcD0CY
I'm DemoWeasel. I draw things for a living and play lots and lots of board games. Video games less often, but still do that too. Also, I fursuit as my two fursonas 'cause it's way fun.
Hi, everyone; I'm tarah, otherwise known as lobst. I've drawn a few comics that people have seemed to enjoy, and programmed a game demo that won 10th-place in a 140+ entry game jam despite having no sound. My ability to finish any individual project has been stymied by mental health problems for over a year, but I've been seeking treatment and making progress. I've also been streaming videogames on weekends. Watch this space!
Stream update: Despite a major setback at the worst possible moment in the Giygas fight, I completed the remainder of the game after a combined total of 10 hours of streaming. Bright side, it allowed me to get more use out of the sidebar graphic I whipped up pre-stream just for the final dungeon (spoilers, obviously):
Coming up on the weekend's final EarthBound stream, I've made it to Summers, and I'd like to get as far into the game's second half as possible! I'll be starting in an hour (1:30 PM PST) and taking breaks every two hours afterward: http://mixer.com/lobst 🔸

You don't see which songs you're playing in advance, also; in today's routine it just showed "INTENSE ->" is until the loading screen for that song appeared. I can see this being a problem if you actively dislike any particular songs in the game's library, and I've heard criticisms that later games especially lean into teenybopper top-40 (One Direction, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry). I personally have no such issues to speak of; the hidden benefit of having no dignity to lose

Still playing this: today I tried out the Just Sweat mode, which includes some common-sense additions not found in any Dance Central titles. Specify the length of your workout, it populates a playlist and fills any time gaps with appropriately timed warmup/cooldown routines. Progress is measured not on move accuracy, but instead by how intensely you're moving averaged over the last few seconds, logged in real-time in a bar chart spanning each routine's length.
