Speed Racer (2008)
Saw this movie for the first time in years last night and it still whips, not just as a direct retread of the anime's story beats, or as a sequence of dazzling visual setpieces that lean into the fake, but also thematically (both in the conflict with the villain and within the family). I was amazed at the scene where Pops recognized his mistake and told Speed he'd always be welcome at home, and I wonder if the Wachowskis meant for a trans parallel to be implied there
It reminds me of the Bethesdaland E3 presentation. Imagine a theme park where most of the rides could be represented by a weapons-ready photorealistic humanoid in the chin-down/eyes-up angry pose, aside from one, and it's Fallout Shelter 🔸
I can see myself having fun making patterns, but I'll have to test out how effective it'd be to make pixel art on PC and run it through a QR code generator before I commit to making anything for this🔸
Easing into spring with a belated birthday gift from @seriousink! Just a forest-doggo vibing in the park, not a cellphone in sight. Absolutely beautiful~
